Goals for your life.

Together we’ll work toward what you hope to achieve with your life. Whether your goals are short-term or long-term, we use a process of discernment and accountability to reach them. I will regularly strive to inspire you along the way. I guarantee you that you won’t find  anyone who will give you more attention to hit your goals.

Growth in your faith.

As a pastor, I believe that the key to everything is the health of our faith. The more in line we are with God, the more purpose, contentment, and peace we will have. There are countless people who have gone before us who have tried to better understand God and grow in unity with God. We’ll rely upon what they have learned.

Pastoral Care

Everyone needs someone to listen to them, even if they don’t know it. Life can be full of pain, transitions, grief, and questions. This is a place to talk about those things, process them, and maybe even find a way to live through them. We’ll find what part your faith plays in it all. It is hard to find someone absolutely dedicated to listening to you with kindness. We’ll use your faith to help with it all.

Public speaking

As a working pastor I am very used to the routine of speaking in public. I know the power of the spoken word and stories to encourage and inspire people. Whatever your group is going through or is trying to work on, I am certain that I can meet them where they are at and make a connection with them. If you are interested in having me at your events, please contact me. I can’t wait to meet them!

Care for all

If you or someone you love is homebound, in a nursing home or hospice, or in hospice, please contact me to arrange an agreement. I deeply desire to be there for those people and their families at times like this to provide pastoral care and spiritual direction.

Free initial visit

A free initial visit of 15 minutes is available to all first timers. This is intended to give you a chance to ask questions, judge your compatibility with me, and share you goals for coaching and direction. If we need a few more minutes than 15, that is certainly fine.

About me …
I’ve always been fascinated by faith.

Before you can begin to trust anyone, you have to get to know them. So, I was born in Salem, Virginia and lived in that area most of my life. After finishing high school, I studied Political Science at Roanoke College. From there, I obtained a Master of Divinity from Union Presbyterian Seminary. Shortly after that I was ordained as a pastor in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). I have spent my career in ministry working in churches directly with people trying to get through life and make sense of where God is in the middle of it all. I have worked with teenagers as an Associate Pastor, but I also did a three year volunteer chaplaincy at the Hermitage Nursing Home in Richmond, Virginia. In other words, I have always been able to connect with all kinds of people.

From the time I started seminary to this day, I have been studying spiritual practices such as Lectio Divina, meditation, centering prayer, the daily examen, and more. They have changed my faith and my life. I believe they can do the same for you. Currently, I am studying at Sustainable Faith’s School of Ignatian Spirituality.

Goals ...

Relentless pursuit

Likewise, I am a very driven person. I do not accept things the way they are. I am always striving for what’s next in my life and make goals for myself constantly. I took continuing education classes for Project Management from Virginia Commonwealth University, which helped me to become very organized and focused. I’d like to share those gifts with others because they can help people achieve the goals they have for themselves.

I am passionate about helping people to achieve their goals, grow in their faith, and find a life of meaning. I do that by forming relationships with people one-on-one. You will always have my attention, kindness, and support. Together, we will work toward your life goals and finding a deeper sense of connection with God.

  • You’ll know you’re on the scent of a worthwhile, lasting ambition when the strong scent of a smoldering fire wouldn’t dampen your resolve to build it twice even before you had built it for the first time.

  • I’m not saying that I have this all together, that I have it made. But I am well on my way, reaching out for Christ, who has so wondrously reached out for me. Friends, don’t get me wrong: By no means do I count myself an expert in all of this, but I’ve got my eye on the goal, where God is beckoning us onward—to Jesus. I’m off and running, and I’m not turning back.
